Wellbeing and Inclusion

At Myrtleford P12 College, Wellbeing and Inclusion are central to our school culture. We are dedicated to fostering a safe, supportive, and respectful environment where every student feels valued and has a strong sense of belonging. Through our wellbeing programs, students learn important skills in emotional regulation, helping them to recognise and manage their feelings, build empathy, and respond positively to challenges. We also promote a growth mindset, encouraging students to see mistakes as opportunities for learning and to develop persistence and confidence in their abilities.

We celebrate and value the rich cultural diversity within our school community. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where every student feels respected, represented, and supported to achieve their best. Our programs and curriculum promote understanding and appreciation of different cultures, traditions, and languages. In particular, we acknowledge and honour the histories, cultures, and contributions of First Nations peoples. We actively embed Indigenous perspectives across our learning programs and to ensure that First Nations students feel a strong sense of belonging, pride, and voice within our school. Through cultural events, Koorie Kids Catch-Ups, student leadership opportunities, and respectful relationships, we aim to build a school culture that recognises and values the importance of identity, connection, and reconciliation.

For Student Wellbeing, when additional support is needed, we work closely with families and provide clear referral pathways to ensure students receive the right help. This may include support from our Wellbeing Team, Mental Health Practitioner, School Nurse, or external partners such as Headspace, Gateway Health, or Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). Together, we create a caring and inclusive community that nurtures both the academic and emotional growth of every student.
